Renting a private meeting room or conference room for 6 to 12 people in a major US city typically costs $40 to $110 per hour in 2026. Flexible workspace operators list entry rates from about $25 to $69 per hour. Hotels charge food and beverage minimums, service charges and sales tax on top of the room fee. Below are prices for 10 US cities, the pricing models venues use, and the costs that quotes often leave out.
Methodology: We combined published booking averages from US venue marketplaces, listed rates from national flexible workspace operators, and published hotel menus and AV price lists, all collected in September 2026. All prices are in USD and exclude sales tax. They change often, so confirm the final quote with the venue.
As of September 2026, most private meeting rooms in large US cities cost $40 to $110 per hour. Citywide marketplace averages run from about $41 per hour in Las Vegas to about $104 in Miami. Flexible workspace operators start lower, and full-day bookings usually work out cheaper per hour than hourly ones.
Prices fall into three types of venue:
| City | Marketplace average, conference rooms (USD/hour) | Downtown example (USD/hour) | Flexible workspace entry rate (USD/hour) | Combined sales tax |

| New York City | $49 | Brooklyn: $63 | from $39 (Queens), $69+ (Manhattan) | 8.875% |
| Chicago | ~$75 | Chicago Loop: $159 | from $25 | 10.5% |

| Orlando | $67 | Northeast Orlando: $96 | from $29 | 6.5% |
| Las Vegas | $41 | Downtown: $116 | from $35 | 8.375% |
| Los Angeles | $62 | n/a | from $35 | 9.75% |
Location is only part of the reason downtown averages are higher. Downtown bookings also tend to be for larger rooms and longer events. Marketplace averages reflect booking data through mid-2026.
Conference rooms in New York average about $49 per hour on venue marketplaces, and the typical booking is four hours for six people. Flexible workspace rooms start at $69 per hour in Manhattan and cost less in Queens, so compare meeting rooms in New York City by neighborhood before you book. If a New York hotel provides catering, the room rental becomes part of the taxable event charge.
The citywide average is about $75 per hour. The Chicago Loop averages $159, because bookings there typically run longer and involve larger groups. Flexible workspace rooms start at $25 per hour, so conference rooms in Chicago outside the Loop are often the better value for routine meetings. Since August 2026, Chicago's combined sales tax has been 10.5%, one of the highest in the country.
At about $104 per hour, Miami has the highest citywide average in this guide, and Miami Beach averages $220. Design-led and waterfront spaces account for much of that. For routine meetings, business centers in Brickell and Downtown offer meeting rooms in Miami from about $25 per hour.
Expect to pay about $77 per hour for a Dallas conference room, or about $104 downtown. Flexible workspace rooms start at $29 per hour. Texas applies its state hotel occupancy tax to meeting and banquet rooms inside hotels. That means conference rooms in Dallas at standalone venues usually carry a smaller tax line than hotel space.
Denver averages about $75 per hour: closer to $55 for small rooms and around $98 for larger ones. Central neighborhoods cost more, and the Ballpark District averages $240. Meeting rooms in Denver at flexible workspace centers start at $29 per hour. Book early when large conventions are in town.
Location matters a lot in Atlanta. Conference rooms average about $71 per hour citywide, but Midtown averages about $129 and Downtown about $170. Meeting rooms in Atlanta at flexible workspace centers start at $29 per hour. At hotels, the AV package can cost more than the room itself.
Houston is one of the more affordable large markets, averaging about $64 per hour. Small rooms cost about $52 and large rooms about $86, while Downtown averages $119. Conference rooms in Houston at flexible workspace centers start at $29 per hour. Many attendees will drive, so check whether parking is included.
Orlando averages about $67 per hour, with flexible workspace rooms from $29. Much of the market is convention hotels around International Drive. These hotels usually quote meeting space as a flat room fee plus tax and service charge, not as an hourly rate, so compare meeting rooms in Orlando across both venue types. Orange County's 6.5% sales tax is the lowest in this guide.
Las Vegas has the lowest citywide average in this guide, at about $41 per hour, and flexible workspace rooms start at $35. Casino hotels on and near the Strip price differently. They typically tie meeting space to a food and beverage minimum that can reach five figures, plus a 22% to 25% service charge. For smaller groups, meeting rooms in Las Vegas away from the Strip usually cost far less.
The average conference room in Los Angeles costs about $62 per hour. Flexible workspace rooms start at $35, or about $45 in West LA. Rates are higher in Santa Monica, Century City and Downtown LA, and parking often costs extra, so filter conference rooms in Los Angeles by area first. California taxes room fees where meals are served, along with mandatory gratuities.
Flexible workspace operators charge by the hour, usually with a one-hour minimum, and discount longer bookings. Hotels and conference centers typically quote a day rate or a per-person package. For a full-day agenda, a day rate is almost always cheaper than paying by the hour.

Industry estimates put a hotel meeting room at about $70 to $160 per hour for the room alone. Four extra items decide the final bill, and together they can add 30% or more to the base price. Many hotels waive the room fee if you meet the catering minimum.
To compare quotes fairly, turn each one into an all-in total for the same headcount, hours and setup. Ask what "++" means in each quote (plus tax, plus service charge), and read the cancellation terms before you pay a deposit. Picking the right room size and layout from the start also keeps you from paying for unused space or reset fees.
